Martin Love
Shipley Ward Councillor
Councillor Martin Love has been a Green campaigner for over 40 years and has been a councillor in Shipley since 2002.
He lives in Shipley with his wife, Helen, and their sons, Tom and George and their dog, Benji.
Martin is now one of the longest-serving councillors in the district and has served on numerous committees during that time, chairing the Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee for several years.
In his day job, Martin works as a dry stone waller, having taken up the craft in 2011 following many years working in IT, as he wanted a change from sitting at a desk and to be able to enjoy Yorkshire’s constant sunshine .
In his spare time he enjoys running and is the Men’s Veterans Captain of Saltaire Striders Running Club. He is also serving a life sentence as a Bradford City supporter.
