Councillors Kevin Warnes again raised the issue of traffic-calming along Caroline Street in Saltaire at January’s Full Council meeting.
This follows months of deadlock over fully-costed proposals that were agreed with the ward councillors last June.
Kevin asked the Leader of Council to publish the reasons for the ongoing delay and explain when the urgently needed project would be implemented. However, the Labour portfolio holder was unwilling to provide this information.
Kevin says that “residents are understandably frustrated - nothing has been done despite the fact that hundreds of vehicles speed through Saltaire every week.
“Martin and I are fed up with Council’s failure to sort this out. The scheme we want is ready to go and the funds are in place. The Council should consult with residents and finish the job.”
