Matt Edwards

Leader of the green party group on bradford Council | Tong Ward Councillor

Matt first stood in Tong Ward in 2015 and campaigns across the local community on a variety of issues. He was elected in May 2021.

He was the first Green Party councillor for Tong Ward.

Matt has been campaigning on a number of big issues across Bradford South including fly-tipping and making the areas safer. Matt has also been a prominent campaigner against Bradford Council's plans to build a new link road through the Tong Valley.

Matt was also the candidates for Bradford South in the last General Election in 2019.

In 2022, Matt was announced as the Green Party National Spokesperson for Transport and Healthy Streets. He has been campaigning for better public transport and for an end to expensive new road building projects.

Matt lives with his partner and their dog. After working in banking for 13 years, he now owns his own graphic design and printing business.
